El-Khatib said the government continues to prioritize support for the automotive industry as part of its broader strategy to localize vehicle production and strengthen the country’s manufacturing base.
According to a report by the Automotive Market Information Council (AMIC), private car sales grew by 17%, totaling 70,900 vehicles during this period, up from 60,800 vehicles in the corresponding months of 2023.
Total imports of passenger cars reached $1.692 billion between January and August, up from $1.155 billion during the same period in 2023, an increase of $536.623 million.
